My Brothers, I worry

I think about my brothers
Constantly
I listen to their struggles
Grateful for their honesty
It’s easier to not speak
It’s peace they seek
A friend who will never write them off as weak

Relationships
Finances
Political shit
Booze
and drugs
Pressure keeping up
Providing all you can
feeling no one gives a fuck
The perpetual cycle does what it does

We like to say that’s just how it is for guys,
But most of the time, it’s we who opt to hide.
Even though no matter how hard we all pry
Men don’t release what they’re holding inside
usually cuz they don’t want to burden you,
You know, be “kind.”

So yeah, I think about my brothers constantly
I’ve seen so many self fulfilling procephies
I’m grateful for the ones who trust me enough to share
I worry for those who hide the load that they bear

So call up your buddy that you haven’t heard from in time
Just to let them know that they’re dope and on your mind,
See where it goes, ask about their life and listen,
Try not to talk about you, only if they ask the questions,
The goal here is to make them feel the sturdiness of your support
Regardless of what they say, you’re there for the report

Show up for each other
No talk, just do
Just never hit a woman
It’s always been our firmest rule.

Be kind to each other
Let’s start hyping us up
Show up for your family
Work for a good cause
Have fun, be manly.
Be more like Ted Lasso
I BELIEVE in you, bro
